The sites were relatively flat, gravel, and they had great tasting well water. They had 30 amp electricity at most sites: however, sewer is available in only 8 of the 40 or so sites. If you are not lucky enough to get a site with sewer, they direct you to a public dump station back in Stewart (customs crossing involved).

If you want to do bear-watching, the advantage of staying (RV Park) here vs. the nicer Bear River campground in Stewart, B.C. is because it is less expensive, closer to the bear-watching platform, and you don't have to wait in line for customs re-entry into Canada with each bear trip. However, since Hyder is becoming a ghost town with only two eating places, you may have to cross to Stewart to grocery shop, eat out, etc.

WiFi is typical sloooow satellite, but works for email. No cable. It is not well maintained, but was safe, quiet and near the Parks service bear-watching platform.

We visited this campground in early August of 2016 & found it to be nicer than previous reviews had written. First of all they do have some sites with full hookups. Second the sites & campground is maintained well enough compared to other Alaskan campground standards. There is no bad odor as said in previous reviews & no standing water. We didn't stay at this campground because I had believed the previous reviews that there were no full hookups & therfore opted to stay at the RV Resort in Stewart that advertised they had full hookups & it did. I would of rather had spent my U.S. dollars on U.S. businesses especially since this campground was less expensive to stay at than the one we did in Stewart. Also when visiting this campground each 3 days we were there in Hyder, the staff was very friendly & helpful. I recommend staying at this campground & we plan on staying here the next time we come to Hyder & Stewart. Also if we had stayed here, we wouldn't have had to deal with Canadian customs each time crossing over. The drive to the Salmon Glacier was well worth the trip & highly suggest one should see. You should also visit the bear viewing platform there in Hyder in late July & throughout August. We visited "The Bus" & ate there & I highly suggest one should eat there. The owner is a 1 woman operation & the seafood she cooks has been some of the best tasting seafood I've ever eaten. I also recommend one should visit the store in Hyder, Boundary Gallery & Gifts. A lot of assortment of items of souvenirs to choose from & great fresh fudge. We spent lots of money there on great souvenirs. We camped in the area in a motorhome.

Stayed here in late June in 2007. Had a great time camping with my wife for two nights. Drove down to see bears. None there. That was alright. Saw enough in rest of Alaska. Went shopping at souvenir store. Then went on to Stewart B.C. Wish I got "Hyderized" but had to leave.
